Alpharettaâ€™s six unique parks offer trails or walking paths, pavilions, playgrounds, arboretums, disc golf courses, lighted tennis courts, and fields for softball, football, soccer, and baseball. North Park offers an Adult Activity Center and an Arts Building. Rock Mill Environmental Park features a unique, green roof pavilion and an outdoor classroom. Wills Park is a 110 acre, multi-use park near the downtown center and features a Wacky World playground and a disc golf course. Union Hill Park offers two hockey rinks, one of which is covered.
Over a dozen trails in Alpharetta range in length from 200 yards to 8 miles. The trails are used for walking, rock climbing, biking, skating, launching canoes and kayaks from, nature viewing, rollerblading, and mountain biking. Big Creek Greenway is a wide, eight mile path through forested areas and wetlands that is used by walkers, bikers, roller bladders, and cyclists.
